Apparently, some people out there didn’t like how I translated the word Mikarin calls Kurose in the latest chapters of Miman Ren’ai (okay, it was ONE person, but there’s probably others). She says he’s a chikan (ちかん [痴漢] (n) masher, molester, pervert), which I translated in the script as “deviant”. This set about a shit-storm of lectures, here’s a sample:

( NAAW* ) I personally think you should re-release 12 with “deviant” replaced with “molester”… if you are going to do 13+…
( NAAW* ) it doesn’t raise nearly the same kind of drama or alarm

( NAAW* ) she’s accusing him of being like someone who would actually do bad things with her

I didn’t edit the chapter, so I don’t have the psd files to do the edits like requested. In exchange, I made this quick knock-up for anyone else who felt the scene was ruined by my poor choice of wording.

If anyone that actually comes to the blog reads Ani Com and is waiting for the next chapter, please vote in the poll. I was a lot more gung-ho about finishing that project when I thought we were doing it jointly with Hanashi. I did all those SFX in that last chapter, and it was a pain in the rear. I’ll do them again for the next chapter if people care about it, but it will significantly increase the time it will take for me to do it (1. because it’s difficult to do, 2. because it’s difficult to motivate myself to do it)

Hey, the forum thing lasted a long time… totally forgot about using it… >.>

EDIT: Just to clarify, I’m talking about AniCom by the author of Naisho no Tsubomi, not AneComi by the author of Midori no Hibi…

Here’s chapter 13 of Love Club, hope you enjoy it. There should be a miman ren’ai or 2 coming in the next few days, after the post-qc edits are done.

Also, links and crap are on the forum here, I don’t want to make two separate entries each time, so I’m gonna try it with the forum and see how that goes. RSS people may want to subscribe to the Releases subforum on the forums.

New forum software

Since it was such an indispensable tool the first X number of times we tried it, I installed new forum software. /sarcasm
It’s mainly for inter-staff communications, since the only way I know how to get ahold of the new editor is on hongfire (and hongfire is a piece of shit right now).
Since the new forum software has a decent RSS feed setup, I may end up just using it flat-out and dumping the blog, we’ll see…
