First, let me outline our work-flow for creating a scanlation, since every group does it slightly differently:

1. Transcription – Simply writing the japanese that’s on the page into a text document.
2. Translation – Translating the japanese into english and inserting it into the text document (or into the pages, for the stuff I’m translating).
3. Editing – Inserting the translation into the pages.
4. Translation checking – Takes the pages and the text document and looks for any major translation snafus.
5. Quality checking – Looks over the pages again and ensures that there aren’t any spelling mistakes, makes sure the font size is okay, or any other general errors.

Now then, here are the positions that we are looking for currently:

1. Translation Checker – Needs to have a firm grasp of the Japanese language, and be able to offer suggestions/alternative takes on certain translations.
2. Editor – For the series that I don’t translate (cherry x cherry, miman ren’ai, shiroi gekkou), it’d be nice to have someone to edit. Because of the work-flow, it’d be better if this person would upload the psd files when they were done, then I can edit in the changes that come about from the TLC and QC phases.
3. Editor – For the series where we’ve released from magazine scans and now have access to the released book scans, we NEED to have an editor. I am never going to get around to redoing these, so we’re going to have to have someone who only does that. This position would be much less time sensitive than any of the other positions, since people have already read the stuff you’d be working on.
